If the weapon you wish to upgrade has an empty Upgrade Slot, go to your Inventory and select the Upgrade Mod you wish to apply. A weapon of higher quality will have more Upgrade Slots than a weapon of low quality. Every weapon in the game has Upgrade Slots. Weapons are upgraded in two ways: Blueprints and Upgrade Slots – both of which can be found scattered across the game’s open-world. Although this method is not as good as selling a weapon, sometimes you will need Metal Parts on the go and this where it comes in handy. The acquired Metal Parts can be used to repair other items. Doing so will grant you with crafting component (Metal Parts). Violet – Most uncommon weapons with even higher statsīreaking Weapons to Receive Crafting ComponentsĪfter you are done using a weapon, you can visit your Inventory and decide to dismantle a weapon.Blue – Uncommon weapons with higher stats.A rare weapon will always have better stats (damage, durability, handling, upgrades, repairs, and value).įollowing is a quick overview of different rarities: Weapons are categorized according to their quality/rarity. Not all weapons in Dying Light are alike. In this guide, I will provide a quick overview of every weapon along with some important concepts that will enable you understand your weapons in a more effective manner. It is a good idea to have a combination of different weapons – an Assault Rifle, a Two-Handed Weapon, a One-Handed Weapon, and something of your own choice.įor more help on Dying Light, read our Dying Light Blueprints Locations, Dying Light Crafting and Character Progression Guide. You can equip four weapons at the same time and switch among them. Weapons are mostly locked inside vehicles and buildings. You will often come across these weapons scattered in the game’s open-world, but not openly as random crafting components. If you're info rifles, although rifles are less effective on higher difficulties, the cool looking skin of Marksman rifle(Gun Psycho DLC) and its red dot sight can be fun.Dying Light boasts a large array of weapons ranging from Baseball Bat to Assault Rifles. However, if you enjoy DL and think that you'll be playing it for longer than 20-50 hours, go ahead and grab Harran Ranger and Gun Psycho if you want, if you're into bows and you want maximum from the game, the highest damage Bozak bow reachs is 4,900 while Harran bow is 5,500, it's not really a huge difference but it's up to you whether you think it's worthy or not. Trick-or-Treater doesn't require DLC and it can be obtained by finishing game on Hard mode, which won't be all that difficulty since it's possible to start NG+ on any difficulty, you keep your skills and inventory when starting NG+. However there's a similar outfit called Trick-or-Treater, that glows in night, in my opinion it looks better than Volatile Hunter, you can google about this as well and compare. Gun Psycho offers a Marksman rifle blueprint, this'll give your rifles a cool skin, increased accuracy, decreased fire rate and a red dot sight.Īs of Volatile Hunter, the blueprints it offers aren't that better than the ones you get in base game, however the biggest advantage in my opinion if this DLC is its cool looking, night glowing outfit. I'll help anyone finish Bozak Horde so they'll get the Bozak Bow blueprint, whoever has Bozak's bow doesn't really need to spend extra money on Harran Ranger DLC. I don't care about your levels or how good you are at it, so don't hesistate to ask. Bozak Bow can be obtained by finishing all Bozak Horde trials, however Bozak Horde is mainly for end game players and it's challenging DLC, but because of that it's much more rewarding than Harran Ranger.Īnyone can add me and ask for assistance in finishing Bozak Horde trials, anytime. The obvious best DLC would be Harran Ranger, since it gives ability to craft the best bow in the beginning called Ranger Bow, which will make you OP and possibly ruin the experience, there's the rival bow called Bozak Bow, although it has a slightly less maximum damage than Ranger Bow but the damage difference isn't huge. 90% of the content of this 3 DLC is just pure cosmetic. Necessary? no, will you need it? no, not really. Are these DLC necessary and do you recommend it? I bought the game, and I've got everything except the cosmetic DLC mentioned above.
